The Team

Bădică Ionuț is the President and Co-Founder of the Permaculture Research Institute of Romania, and the Co-Founder of the Transition Towns Romania Hub (Asociația România în Tranziție). Since 2017 he has acted as coordinator of the Grădinescu project, the biggest Urban Garden Network in Romania. In 2020 has put the base of the Sol si Suflet - regenerative agriculture project. Ionut has studied civil engineering and holds a master’s degree in management of biodiversity conservation obtained from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest. Ionuț works as a permaculture designer, integrating his knowledge in civil engineering, gardening, regenerative agriculture, sociocracy and biodiversity conservation into designing, planning and implementing regenerative systems on a variety of scales (homestead garden to farm). He is experienced in involving the community and raising awareness about caring and learning from nature.

Born in the small town of Miercurea-Ciuc, in the mountains of the Romanian Carpathians, he grew up in an urban space and, at the same time, close to the natural environment. The time of the communist regime, the family's rural past and the multicultural social context profoundly shaped his inner world.
Lived in Spain and Portugal, his professional journey includes design, communication and image, management, strategy and design of educational programs, facilitation and consultancy.

Since 2008 he started a journey with causes such as sustainability, mitigation of climate change, grassroots initiatives, community activation, regeneration of biodiversity, cultural design, organizational development and many, many others. He is involved with a wide range of projects ranging from local to global. Passionate about networking, the human evolutionary capacity and its inter-being potential.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
